Resum

The aim of this paper is to steer some reflections about conventional on-campus university learning and university distance learning aided by information technologies. In order to do that, we will describe an experience in "virtual" distance learning: the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Open University of Catalonia-UOC). A discussion and conclusion section is included.
