Resum
The Finite Element Method (FEM) represents an essential tool for product design. Improvements in the characterization of materials result in an increased correlation to the simulation-test results, an important factor in improving the development process.
A new strategy to feed is proposed, in a simple and effective way, the elastoplastic constitutive model with Von Mises isotropic hardening for a better response in static computer simulation for products made of polymers.
An evaluation of the mechanical behavior of selected materials representative of families used in automotive interior systems using samples cut from actual parts has been carried out. In this way, the decline of mechanical properties in the usual injection manufacturing process can be checked. The new characterization strategy uses this information found in physical testing.
Finally, an exercise to validate the new characterization proposal on a real Door Panel
Module assembly (experimental correlation) is realized.
