Resum
Cooperative relationships elicit more constructive conflict management resulting in more open debate, creative solutions, and more team cohesion. Evidence shows a strong nexus between constructive conflict management and improving innovation activities in organizations. In family firms, there is some evidence around the positive role of the conflict in innovation, although more research is necessary to understand how constructive conflict management is possible in such a complex system. Aligned with this goal, this article studies the role of socioemotional wealth in potentiating or limiting such cooperative styles affecting constructive conflict management and innovation in family firms. We propose some theoretical propositions that guide further research and could help to practitioners and managers.
