Resum
The striking similarities between the novel Coming Up For Air (1939) and ByungChul Han's books on present-day technological society is the object of this paper. Both, the English writer-journalist and the German philosopher, diagnosed and described the same illnesses. The paper focuses mainly on the problem of Entzeitlichung, the disappearance of time, and if and how it is possible to regain a contemplative look that prevents time from dissolving.
