Resum

The benefits of adopting the open innovation system, role of the business model and their implications for AIChE conference are discussed. The important measures that should be taken for open innovation include metabolic rate of using new knowledge, R&D expenditures and development of business from marketing. The Business Model identifies a market segment, articulates the value of the proposed offering and defines the value chain to deliver that offering. Implications for AIChE include redefining the role of research and the metrics for innovation performance.
