Resum
Energy provision is not just a service available to the public but part of the social contract. This consideration impacts the design of the markets through which it is made effective. The complexity of energy markets and the multiple consequences that arise from intervention in them, concerning resource distribution, economic competitiveness, or environmental sustainability, to name a few, invite the simplification of the terms of public debate. This simplification, often ideological in its formulation and motivated by legitimate but particular interests, involves biases and an inaccurate diagnosis that do not facilitate an optimal solution. This work attempts to propose a more objective approach.
