Resum
K2P or two-pore-domain potassium channels where first molecularly identified in the nineties. Since then, a great effort has been put to unravel their role in cellular excitability. It is known that K2P channels play a fundamental part in setting and stabilizing the resting membrane potential and are thought to be key elements in pain pathways. For these and many other reasons, K2P channels are regarded as promising targets for new drug design.
