Resum

In the recent decade, open government has regained attention to strengthen democratic governance by building on three pillars of transparency, participation, and collaboration. The emergence of digital technologies has also facilitated innovative and collaborative methods to promote open government approaches. This Handbook aims to capture the recent approaches and trends in open government research and practice. The Handbook is divided into five parts: (i) Concepts, (ii) Pillars of Open Government, (iii) Open Government in Policy Domains, (iv) Global Progress on Open Government, and (v) Emerging Trends. Chapters in each part provide a conceptual or empirical understanding of the core components and results of open government, including its global progress.
