title = "I'm Doing This Right Now and It's for You. The Role of Images in Sexual Ambient Intimacy",
abstract = "The purpose of this chapter is to present some thoughts on how photographic practices are part of an increasing normalization of intimate mediations by forming specific assemblages (see Rose, 2014) of text, connectivity, seduction, and timing. We will focus specifically on sexually mediated practices, since these seem to be a fertile ground to analyze how the normalization of these intimate mediations is being shaped. The chapter reports on an ongoing research agenda that focuses on photography as a series of practices in everyday life and goes beyond focusing solely on what is depicted in the images. Concepts addressing sex and mediated communications and discuss practices related to digital images such as selfies and sexting are situated within a wider discussion on visuality, mobility, and everyday practices.",
