Ellas también migraron. huellas de catalanas y vascas en la Argentina de principios del siglo XX

In the context of gender studies, we produce an introductory comparative approach of the female contribution to the socio-cultural and political projects of the Catalan and Basque voluntary associations founded in Argentina in the first half of the twentieth century, two cases that have been little discussed in the American and Spanish historiography. We follow insights that allow us to track and describe, in a diachronic way, how these women integrated themselves into the local associative networks, in the geographical context of two cities closely linked to Argentine economic development: Buenos Aires and Rosario. From little studied sources, we try to identify differences and similarities between the two cases, pointing to a line of research that has not been fully exploited as yet.
