Resum
This paper presents an analysis of the determination of parentage in Rome and its development until today. Specifically focuses on the evolution of mater semper certa est principle attributed to the jurist Paulas and maintenance in today’s society in which revealed two areas of constantly changing as are the family and medicine. The new family models and new techniques of assisted reproduction condition a new social reality in which cases arise even double-descent maternity unthinkable in Román times and produce a rethinking of the principle of Paulus.
