Resum
This article presents the contents of the "consensus of Washington", which represents a paradigm of capitalist economy in the post socialism period. It analyses the problems which have been excluded from the consensus: equal opportunity, the ecology issue etc. It also comments on the failure of the application of the consensus in certain cases, and the proposals from the World Bank to take it even further, under the terms reflected by the "consensus of Santiago". It states that the "consensus of Washington" corresponds to a specific type of capitalism, which should be complemented by other statements of mission that are more adapted to the diversity of reality to avoid it turning into a new ideology.
