Resum
This paper sets out to analyse whether crowdsourcing and hiring ondemand are legitimate forms of outsourcing. Methodology: In the current digital environment, many companies and digital platforms make use of crowdsourcing and different forms of on-demand hiring. Findings: Platforms outsource services to a large number of self-employed workers hired on-demand, thus moving away from protection provided by labor law. Research limitations/implications: The paper considers several forms of outsourcing. Originality: The paper considers whether these forms of employment contribute to employee misclassification.
