Resum

Based on in-depth interviews and case studies with over 50 organisations, this is a unique report charting the increased activities of corporates and corporate foundations in investment oriented approaches to solving social and environmental problems. The report highlights the very first success stories in collaboration and co-investment between corporate players and Venture Philanthropy and Social Investment organisations as corporate foundations and corporations start experimenting with VP/SI strategies. Successful leading companies like Allianz and Lafarge have started to engage in and embrace ideas of Inclusive Business or Shared Value in their sustainability strategy - in addition to their established corporate social responsibility or philanthropic activities. Furthermore, the traditional corporate social responsibility approach of companies is moving towards a more investment oriented one that evaluates joint opportunities for both financial return and social impact.
