Resum
Commitment to design as a competitive advantage and the quest for efficiency in its management favour a strategic approach that promotes market orientation and, as a result, has a positive impact on business results. With this in mind, seven Spanish companies from the furniture sector have been studied, each of which were well known for their business excellence and focus on design. This analysis is based on in-depth interviews with company managers, the study of secondary data, direct observation in the workplace and a questionnaire. It has been structured on a management model and provides interesting recommendations for companies seeking excellence in the sector.
