Care-based practices: An emergent conversation on creating and sustaining care in action

As scholars, practitioners, and educators we can choose to engage superficially or in deep, meaningful ways. Aligning with this year's theme we intend to focus our workshop on engaging in an emergent conversation addressing care-based practices within and across these domains. This session is designed to explore and to critique how caring is demonstrated and how it may be expressed and experienced through innovative methods leading to action in practice. Building on individual experiences and shared sense making participants will drive the discussion toward action steps culminating in a vision for future care-based practice. Participants will have taken initial steps toward forming a new community across disciplines and domains including ideas for potential collaboration.
