Resum

A new method has been developed for the restoration of copper calcographic plates based on cold plasma techniques. As a first step, samples are treated with oxygen plasma to oxidize the ink residues. After this treatment the metal surface becomes oxidized and it is treated with hydrogen plasma. The oxides are removed and the activated surface is protected against any later atmospheric corrosion with an organic film deposited by plasma polymerization of methane.
