Resum
The paper argues that knowledge creation and use are human issues. Moreover, they involve individual and organizational learning. Yet, performance enhancement will depend on the epistemological view governments and managers have about human beings. Some of the core elements are missing in the mainstream organizational learning thus it should be completed. The paper offers a definition of the existential-humanistic organizational learning and presents an illustration. The existencial-humanistic framework is anchored on the critical theory approach and provides assumptions, concepts and methods with an emancipatory interest. The way organizations manage human capital can be improved by the proposed methodology. The decision-making process is reviewed by this particular approach to learning. As the framework is human-centred, it takes the organizations as means towards human learning and development. In the knowledge economy as well, knowledge creation and use, and innovation competencies building become instruments to human development.
